The Wii is available in only one retail package unlike the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which come in several different versions. You don't have to worry about whether you want a hard drive, an HDMI connection, green paint, chrome trim, or anything else with the Wii. The basic console package costs 9 and comes in white. Nintendo is known for producing game systems in a variety of colors, but don't expect to see more Wii options until the current one stops selling out in stores.
The Wii system includes the console, AV cables, Wii Sports, and a Wii Remote with Nunchuk attachment. The package includes everything you need to get started, but we recommend picking up a few extra controllers as soon as possible, given that the Wii shines as a multiplayer console for the living room.
Some retailers have taken advantage of the Wii's scarcity by forcing customers to buy additional games and accessories with the system. The bundles vary from store to store, but they generally include popular games along with an extra controller.
