Multiple reports of a smartphone called Mi MIX Nano being released soon have been doing the rounds lately. As the name suggests, the Mi MIX Nano is tipped to be the mini variant of the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi MIX launched last month. However, now an employee from the company refutes rumours, saying that no such product is in the making.
Xiaomi's marketing director Zang Zhiyuan took to Weibo to confirm that "there's no such product as Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano". This pretty much douses all the fired rumours around the smartphone, and claims that a mini variant of the Xiaomi Mi MIX is not in the offing. To complicate matters, the comment was soon deleted by Zhiyuan so we can't be sure what Xiaomi is really planning.
It could be possible that Xiaomi may still be looking to introduce a mini Mi MIX variant, but have decided against calling it Mi MIX Nano. The company may still release the smartphone with a different name in place. The Mi MIX Nano is largely rumoured to release early next month.
Xiaomi's Mi MIX Nano is tipped to sport a 5.5-inch screen with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, which will be slightly less than the Mi MIX. It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and will pack 64GB of storage. Even the price of the smartphone has been leaked, and the Mi MIX is tipped to be priced at CNY 3,000 (approximately Rs. 30,000).
Just to recap, Xiaomi launched its Mi MIX smartphone with near bezel-less display and touting a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio last month. It bears a 6.4-inch display, Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4GB RAM and 16-megapixel rear camera.
