The new Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) are packed and ready to go on sale after midnight in 2007 at the Sony Center in Berlin
The manufacturers of the PlayStation console, Sony, have introduced a new update going by the title 'PS3 update 3.42'. The PS3 update 3.42 is something that is mandatory to install for all users and owners of the PS3 and it is now coming to notice that the company itself has not mentioned much about the update other than the director for hardware marketing, Eric Lempel, posting that the PS3 update 3.42 has additional security features.

This PS3 update 3.42 is all about Sony's ambition to make the PS3 a completely uncrackable console. While the Sony policy is very strict about certain matters, there are still thousands of people out there using jailbreaked PS3s but all that is about to change for a brief period of time with the installation of the PS3 update 3.42.

No doubt there will be hackers out there who will be racking their brains to bypass this new update and as sure as one can be about this fact, one can know for certain that it will only be a matter of time before a knew jailbreak exploit is discovered. Nevertheless, the PS3 update 3.42 should, at least, keep the console and network free of hacked PS3s.

The previous 'firewalls' of the PS3 were nothing more than a joke for the hacking community which was lightening fast in coming out with the PSGroove jailbreak exploit. Perhaps Sony has upped the ante and hired some miracle workers for the new PS3 update 3.42... only time will tell.
